What we value
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Knowing God
Everyone is created to know God personally. We want to be a community which seeks to know and enjoy God in every aspect in our lives.
John
17:3
|
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” |
Eph
1:17 |
“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.” |
Worship
Worship is our response to God for who He is and what He has done, expressed through our words and lives in a multitude of creative expressions.
Psalm 95:6
|
“Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.” |
John
4:24 |
“God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” |
Community
The Christian life is not meant to be lived alone. Because of our common bond in Christ, Christians can experience genuine relationships with one another that provide the encouragement, grace, and love we need to become all God wants us to be. Our desire is for genuine community to pervade everything we do as a church.
Acts
2:42-47
|
“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” |
1 Cor
12:12-13 |
“The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.” |
Transformation
We want to become more like Jesus in every aspect of our lives. We believe that He is able to transform us, and through us, bring transformation to all levels of society.
Romans
12:1-2
|
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. |
2 Cor
3:18 |
“And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” |
2 Cor
5:17
|
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” |
Mission
Having experienced the goodness of God for ourselves, we want others to experience Him. Therefore, it is our privilege to boldly proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ through our words and actions and to help establish new churches, both in the UK and throughout the world.
Matthew
28:18-20
|
“Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” |
Acts
1:8 |
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” |
