Know God
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . ... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

God is real and he loves you!  The love He gives is unlike any love that can be found in this world.  God's love is patient and kind.  It is not envious; it is not boastful and proud, nor is it rude or selfish.  God is not hot tempered and he keeps no record of your wrongs.

His love is protective and strong.  He fights for His own! It is trusting and vulnerable as well.  In God's love we can find safety from the storms that sometimes come our way.

His love is full of hope - He hopes for the best for you.  He will  never hold you down or push you back, but rather enable and release you to reach your fullest potential.

God's love perseveres.  There is nothing that you can do to keep Him from extending His affections toward you.  God's love is pure.  It will never fail you.

In fact, His love is why you were born.  You were made to get caught up in a completely amazing, reality shattering, all-encompassing, life-giving relationship with God Himself.

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, left the glorious splendour of Heaven and became human.  Out of passion in His heart for you and me, He clothed himself in human likeness, and came to earth to serve us, heal us, teach us, save us and ultimately to lay his life down for us.

Why is that necessary?  The problem with evil in the world is that it keeps us from the Love that we so desperately crave.  Sin  separates us from the holy, righteous, perfect God.

And so it happened, Jesus died.  He bore the punishment that our sins deserved.  By the power of God, He was brought to life again and made a way for us to come in contact with that which we ache for...the unfailing love of God.

It is a gift that is offered to us everyday that there is breath in our lungs.   With each sunrise and sunset God is beckoning us, calling out for us to be caught up in something greater than ourselves.  All it requires is faith, a belief that what Jesus did is true.

If you are ready, you can pray the following prayer to accept Christ as your Saviour.  There is nothing magical about these words, it is more an issue of your heart:

"Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner and that I need your forgiveness.  I believe that Christ died in my place to pay the penalty for my sin and that He rose from the dead.  I now invite Jesus Christ to come into my life as my Saviour.  Thank you for making me Your child and adopting me into Your family."

You have just begun a relationship with the Lord - a marvellous journey.  The way to continue to grow in this relationship is by spending time with Him and becoming involved in a Christian community.  If you prayed this prayer, please and let us know!
