What can I expect when I visit The Gathering?
The Gathering is our weekly Sunday night worship service. We get started at 5:30, however, many come at 5:00 for tea, biscuits, and a wide assortment of snacks. We begin with a half hour of worship, followed by a message exploring who God is and how we can follow Him in this day and age. We usually finish by 7:15. Following the service, many head to a nearby pub for food, drinks, and fun together.
Do you have childcare?
Yes! We have a children's portion of The Gathering called "Launch Pad" that is designed to lead them in worship, teach them about God's character and have fun together. It begins at 5:30 and continues until 7:15 (the length of The Gathering).
What is the worship like?
Worship is our response to God for who He is and what He has done in our lives. It is full of passion, reverence, and joy. Our band is comprised mostly of university students who love expressing their love of God through worship. We mostly sing contemporary worship songs and seek to create an atmosphere where individuals are free to express their worship authentically.
We also like to cultivate creative styles of worship that incorporate art, drama, visual graphics, poetry and writings into our expression of worship to God.
What can I expect when I visit a lifegroup?
Lifegroups are the core of our church life. Patterned after the model of Acts 2:42-47, Lifegroups keep people from getting lost in the crowd. Instead, they provide a community to help walk out your faith. A typical Lifegroup will involve worship, discussion, and prayer, with plenty of hang-out time to get to know one another. They are led by two or more trained, volunteer leaders who help facilitate the meeting. However, Lifegroup is not a teaching time or Bible study where one person instructs everyone else. Instead, we aim to learn from one another, encourage and minister to each other in the context of community.
